Questions people ask before they travel

Practical answers about cost, visas, timelines and who is responsible for what. Where we genuinely can’t give you a fixed number, we say so rather than invent one.

Looking for questions about a specific procedure? Those sit on each treatment page, and go live once a named medical reviewer has signed them off.

Getting started

What happens between your first message and a written plan.

How long does the whole process take?

From your first message to a confirmed written plan usually takes 2–4 days. After that, the biggest variable is your visa — some nationalities get an e-visa in days, others need an embassy appointment that takes longer — so we give you your exact timeline once we know your passport country, rather than a generic estimate that might not hold true for you.

What do I need to send to get started?

Whatever you have — recent reports, scans, or even a photo of a prescription. A specialist can usually give useful guidance from partial records and will tell you if more tests are needed.

Does it cost anything to enquire?

No. The consultation, the hospital matching and your written plan cost nothing, and there is no obligation to travel afterwards. If you decide not to proceed, that is a normal outcome and we will not chase you.

What if India turns out to be the wrong choice for me?

We will tell you. If the specialist reviewing your case thinks travelling is not in your interest — because of your condition, timing or fitness to fly — you will hear that plainly rather than get a quote anyway.

Cost and payment

How pricing works, and what our published figures do and don't mean.

Are the prices on this site what I will actually pay?

No — they are indicative starting ranges to help you plan. Your real price is set by the treating hospital once they have reviewed your case, and it can change if your clinical situation differs from what was expected. Every price on this site carries its source and the date it was checked.

What is not included in the treatment price?

Unless we state otherwise in writing, quoted treatment costs exclude flights, visa fees, accommodation and our concierge services. Those are quoted separately so you can see exactly what each part costs instead of one blended number.

How does IndiHeals make money?

We earn a facilitation fee and/or a referral commission from partner hospitals. We think you should know that, because it is the honest answer to why any facilitator recommends a particular hospital. It is also why we publish our vetting standards — so you can judge the recommendation on its merits.

Visas and travel

The logistics, including the parts we can't put a fixed number on.

Why won't you give me a fixed visa timeline?

Because it genuinely depends on your nationality, and giving everyone the same number would mean it's wrong for most people. Some passports qualify for an e-visa approved in a few days; others require an in-person embassy appointment that can take a few weeks. We'll tell you exactly what to expect for your country as soon as we know it.

Can someone travel with me?

Yes, and we would encourage it. India issues a medical attendant visa for people accompanying a patient, and we handle that paperwork alongside yours.

Who meets me when I land?

Your care manager or a trusted local partner, at arrivals — before anything else happens. Airport pickup is one of the steps most facilitators leave you to arrange yourself.

Trust and safety

Who we are, who treats you, and what we will not claim.

Is IndiHeals a hospital?

No. We are a facilitator. We do not provide treatment, employ doctors or operate hospitals — your clinical care is provided by an independent accredited hospital and its clinicians, and the clinical relationship is between you and them.

How do you choose which hospitals to work with?

We only work with hospitals holding current JCI or NABH accreditation, verified directly with the accrediting body rather than taken from the hospital's own marketing, and we check surgeon credentials before recommending anyone.

Why don't you show patient testimonials?

Because we don't have consented, verified ones yet — and we would rather show nothing than invent them. When real patients agree to share their stories, they will appear with documented consent. Until then that page stays empty on purpose.

Who do I talk to once I've booked?

Your dedicated care manager, by name, reachable on WhatsApp — the same person from your first consultation through your aftercare follow-up.

Can I switch from Essentials to the full concierge later?

Yes. Many patients start with a free consultation and decide on their support level once they've seen their written plan and price.
